Class Projects – Book and AV Bundles – At the Library or For your Classroom

We’ll pull books for you and your class project, just call or stop in! Give us a little time, and we’ll have a bundle prepared for you on your class topic. It’s a great way to get what you need for your next lesson without having to spend the time doing all the research to find the materials you want. Check the books out, or we’ll keep them here for your students for several weeks while they are working on their assignment. You can also contact us using our reader’s suggestion form.

Ellison Machine and Dye Cuts

You can sign up to use our Ellison machine and dye cuts at no charge. Bring your own paper or cardstock, and cut out identical shapes, letters, etc. to use for name tags, bulletin boards, crafts and more. Just give us a call, let us know when you’d like to use the machine, and we’ll have it ready for you when you arrive. We have a list of dye cuts that are currently available. If you want to see what they look like ahead of time, ask at the Children’s service desk for our dye cut book and you can see the size and shape of the finished product.

Class Visits

Come to us or we’ll come to you. If you are looking to introduce your students to the library, call us to book a library storytime, tour and/or research session. Can’t leave the classroom? We’re happy to visit with a selection of books, a booktalk and a list of upcoming events. Give us a call and let us know what day and time is good for you, and we will do our best to plan a visit. If you do plan to visit us and want to get your students library cards, let us know and we’ll send you the application form. Students can return the completed form to you, you can send it to us, and we’ll have your cards ready for you when you arrive for your visit!

Elementary Workshop and Special Program Project Credit

During the school year, we offer Elementary workshops on a variety of topics for children in grades K-6 completely free of charge. Additionally, during school breaks and on weekends, we also offer special presenters including authors, scientists, artists, museum educators and more. Topics usually include: STEM-topics, art, world languages, cooking, movement, music, etc. Consider making participation in one of these workshops a way to give students credit for a topic you are covering. Let us know, and we would be happy to provide a certificate of student participation.

Continuing Education and Material Previews for You!

Come to us or we’ll come to you. If you are looking for new program planning resources, curriculum materials, or resources on topics in education and would like to see what we have to offer, give us a call to book a group visit. We can arrange for a 1 to 1.5 hour long session where you can look at materials, brainstorm with your colleagues, ask us questions about programs, materials and services, and perhaps enjoy some light refreshments. Need any early morning session? Let us know. We may be able to accommodate an 8 a.m. or 7:30 a.m. meeting time depending on staff availability.
