Remaking the Baroness: A Saratoga 250 Project

Inspired by the upcoming Saratoga 250 anniversary, earlier this year Librarian Caitlin set out to bring history to life with a sewing project. Taking a cue from the Saratoga 250 augmented reality banner of Baroness von Riedesel that you may have seen in the library and around town, Caitlin made the Baroness’ dress, and she did most of the sewing in public demonstrations. Now the project is done, and it’s time for the big reveal! Part history lesson, and part dressing demonstration, this talk will explain the project, the Baroness, and how a gown like hers would be worn.
