Unearth A Story: Summer Reading at SSPL

Kids and teens, get ready to dig into a great book, uncover hidden histories, and explore the past with our 2026 Summer Reading program, Unearth a Story! Running from June 19th through August 31st, this year’s challenge invites kids and teens to track their reading minutes to smash community goals and unlock brand-new STEM activities and games for the library. When kids sign up, they’ll grab a free book right away and can earn exciting weekly rewards—including a special library beach towel for reaching 900 minutes! Teens will be challenged to complete missions, each one helping them very earn prizes and street cred.
