The Basics of Comic Creation

Learn the basics of the classic 4 panel comic strip form! Get an introduction to pacing, character creation, and finding creativity when you don’t feel creative. Participants will write and draw a comic themselves and work on several with the group. The workshop is taught by Elizabeth Jancewicz and Eric Stevenson, creators of the graphic novel How to Completely Lose Your Mind: A Graphic Novel Memoir of One Indie Band’s Attempt to Break a World Record and the online comic The Touring Test. Elizabeth Jancewicz and Eric Stevenson’s work also includes the documentary film “Drive. Play. Sleep.” and the piano-slamming/live-painting touring band Pocket Vinyl. They’ve been full time artists for 15 years on a DIY level. They will share their experience and expertise as much as they possibly can
