In partnership with the Capital District Library Council, selected images from the Saratoga Room are being posted on the web. Please view our images in this growing collection.
A stereoview (also known as stereoscope or stereo cards) is a nineteenth century 3-D photograph! Found above are only a few examples of what we have in our collection (but the images here do not do them justice!). We also have a vast local post-card collection, 360° panoramic pictures, and many other pieces of history.

Congress Hall's front porch looking north. Includes images of patrons and furniture.
People in Congress Park's fields creating piles of hay. Vintage dress is worn, likely for the photo.
Images of people lounging in Congress Park on wooden chairs placed along the path.
From the collection of the library's Saratoga Room, this photo of the 46th Annual Reunion Survivors of the 77th Regiment N.Y. Infantry Volunteers (Civil War) was taken on September 19, 1918 on the steps of Saratoga Springs City Hall, which at the time also housed the Saratoga Chapter of the American Red Cross.
To complement our physical collection, Saratoga Springs Public Library is proud to partner with the New York State Military Museum to make selections from the Veteran Oral History Program available online.
