Resources and Services for Parents
Get Well Soon – Book and AV Bundles
Have a sick child at home? Give us a call, tell us what kind of topics your child enjoys, and in a short time we’ll have a get well bundle prepared for you. Included in the bundle will be 3-5 picture books or early readers, 1-2 movies if you’d like, some coloring pages, stickers, a bookmark, a get well card from us and other goodies to help make a sick child feel a little better.
Ellison Machine and Dye Cuts
You can sign up to use our Ellison machine and dye cuts at no charge. Bring your own paper or cardstock, and cut out identical shapes, letters, etc. to use for name tags, bulletin boards, crafts and more. Just give us a call, let us know when you’d like to use the machine, and we’ll have it ready for you when you arrive. We have a list of dye cuts that are currently available. If you want to see what they look like ahead of time, ask at the Children’s service desk for our dye cut book and you can see the size and shape of the finished product.
Homeschool Class Visits
If you are looking to introduce your students to the library, call us to book a library storytime, tour, book talk and/or research session.

The Librarians at SSPL are here to provide you with resources to help answer some of these tough questions and help guide you and your child through life changes with the help of the materials in our collection and online. Parenting Events
Throughout the school year we offer events on a variety of topics. Some of these have included information on:
- preventing lyme disease
- helping your child navigate school services
- baby massage
- hands-only cpr
- and more...
Each winter season, we also co-host an annual Preschool Fair with the Waldorf School of Saratoga where over 20 local preschools usually attend to provide information on the services they offer. Additionally, as of fall 2016, we are happy to offer our first annual Baby Fair! The Baby Fair will bring together local organizations and agencies such as Saratoga Hospital, the YMCA, Capital District Child Care Coordinating Council, EOC/WIC, the Saratoga County Health Department and more to answer your questions on pre/and postnatal care topics for you and your new addition.
