Beginning in January, 2022, library building opening hours and some additional library services are restored, and subject to change according to guidance from health officials and staff availability. A mask requirement remains in place.

As we enter 2022 facing another uptick in the spread of a new Covid-19 variant, we are once again cautiously expanding access to library programs and services. With the rapidly and continuously changing environment and sometimes confusing guidance from health officials, stating anything about the availability of in-person library services with a solid degree of certainty is, to say the least, a challenge.

While we are able to do so in a manner that protects the health and safety of library workers and visitors, and as staffing levels allow, beginning January 3, we are restoring the library building's opening hours to pre-pandemic levels. Some services, such as library programs and access to some library spaces, will continue to be limited or metered, and some services will continue to be offered primarily virtually.

Library Hours: The library building is scheduled to be open to the public, and library staff available by phone, e-mail and chat during the following hours:

  • Monday-Thursday 9AM-9PM
  • Friday 9AM-6PM
  • Saturday 9AM-5PM
  • Sunday Noon-5PM

The Treehouse Room and library café space remain closed.

The Saratoga Room local history collection is scheduled to open 10AM-5PM Monday-Friday and 1PM-5PM Saturday.

The Teen Room is scheduled to open Tuesday-Thursday 3PM-6PM.

Masks which cover both the mouth and the nose are required of all people aged two and over for entry and must be worn at all times while inside the building. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask, please make use of our digital resources, or please call the library, and arrangements may be made to provide access to physical library materials outside the building. Violation of the masking requirement is a violation of the library’s patron code of conduct.

Programs: Library programs continue to be offered primarily virtually. Limited in-person programs are available, and all require registration. Attendance at in-person programs is limited, and all indoor attendees are required to wear a mask. Visit the library’s event calendar for information about program offerings.

Meeting Rooms: The Susman and Glasby Rooms are available on a walk-in basis, as available. Beginning January 10, local groups may once again register to request meeting space in the library. All groups requesting space must complete the meeting room application form, regardless of approval status prior to the pandemic.  All individual and group users of library meeting rooms must follow the Public Meeting Room Guidelines and are required to abide by the library Patron Code of Conduct, including masking at all times while inside the building.

Please be aware that availability of in-person services may be limited if we are unable to maintain staff at a level to provide such services safely, or if guidance from health officials requires that we limit access. Throughout the current emergency, all library users are encouraged to continue to take advantage of our electronic resources, digital collections, and virtual program offerings.

Wishing you all a safe, happy, and healthy New Year,

Ike Pulver, Library Director
