Literacy NYGCR provides private and small group instruction by trained volunteers to individuals wishing to improve reading, writing and English speaking skills. One of their main locations is an office on the lower level of the Saratoga Springs Public Library, just a few steps beyond the Children's Room.
The Saratoga Springs Public Library supports the mission of Literacy NYGCR and continues to be a site for tutoring, workshops and more. Literacy NYGCR serves three counties and covers over 2,500 square miles. Tutoring takes place in over thirty locations, primarily in public libraries. Literacy NYGCR is always seeking new tutors, volunteers, and learners. The future of the organization depends on strong community involvement and support.
